while i transfered some stuff to the new cms and a new host some months ago i never managed it to fill it with all the stuff i want to .. till now. the site is slowly taking all the things that are laying around.

its not yet completly ready or finished but at least its a good start. i would be happy to hear comments about the layout and the colors and such things if you want, see “contact”.

fluxbox and subversion and ak-fluxbox-cvs

2004-11-16 12:05

fluxgen (who is the lead-dev of fluxbox) and i discussed subversion (a nice version control system) for some time now. he even uses it for fbpager, a little sideproject of him. since sourceforge.net, which hosts the code and the webstuff of fluxbox for some time now, is becoming slower and slower and some features of subversion are just nice (versioned renaming of files, directories etc) we finally opened a project on berlios.de and transfered the cvs-repository to that place … yeah. surf it here:

http://svn.berlios.de/viewcvs/fluxbox/trunk/

and since we are now using subversion i renamed ak-fluxbox-cvs, my tiny personal ebuild for the gentoo-distribution) to ak-fluxbox-svn. thats the way of keeping in sync with the develop-process of fluxbox and dont f**k around with the packagemanger. the ebuild is available at

http://darkshed.net/files/gentoo/ebuilds/x11-wm

as always, just unpack it into your overlay-directory/x11-wm/

cheers and happy fluxboxing.

a new home

2004-10-18 16:19

hi all, i moved my darkshed-site from our lan-server to my buddy lumberjack’s rootserver. at the moment i am testing textpattern.com to replace e107. so far it looks good coz i just need a clean way of providing some texts and articles and nothing fancy.

well, lets see how it works :)

giving credits to ... :)

2004-09-04 14:00

today it was a funny morning. i surfed ikaro.dk and found a new style in the downloads: wintermute (what is wintermute ). this style was witten by alexander linke. and yes
, name is program :)

i followed the style for fluxbox to alexander’s site and i was really surprised to find a tool that provides a logout-dialog. its called flux_logout

does this sound somehow familiar to you? no?
well, take a look at the article about a logout-dialog i wrote some months ago and which was flying around the net some time. i even added it to fbcmd

apropos fbcmd. i know a person who wrote a gentoo – ebuild for it, just take a look

isnt this all funny? and no single word about the poor akira-dude :/ sniff

btw, there is another project that was build ontop of one of my articles: fbnews . this guy gave me credits in his README and i liked this subtile way of giving credit

:)

have fun in the net,
mathias

the butterfly - effect

2004-09-02 00:45

anja and i went to cinema on last saturday to watch the butterfly-effect.

quite impressive, i must say.

a bit too thrilling at some moments (for my taste). its all about the old question what if i could turn back time and change some things in life

what i dont understand are the critics in this case. even my favourite moviesite writes stuff i dont really can follow. read for yourself, but take my word: its much better than the critics say it is.
