my real name in “real life” mathias gumz, but in the ‘net i am mostly known as “akira”. i am 28 years old (born on 4th of july 1978) and currently live and work in magdeburg, germany.

skills

most of the time i spend writing software (6+ years c++/c, 3 years ruby and awk/sed) for unix like systems (linux, *bsd, irix). i
am also able to work with Win32 compilers. i am familiar with opengl, opensg, open performer, qt, fox, xlib and lots of other toolkits.

I am relatively familiar with administrative tasks on linux, freebsd, openbsd and sgi. i am also able to handle win32-boxes though i really don’t enjoy putting my hands on it :)

favourite stuff

i love music. and i am really addicted to the music of tool and nine inch nails. for hacking-time i prefer electronic music such as amon tobin coz the other stuff is sometimes a bit too thrilling.

i also like to cook and eat spicy stuff … which means .. chili :) my gf anja and i are known for making a “damn hot chili”, we are earning a lot of … red faces on parties when people are not aware of the spices :) hehe ..

i also try to play guitar (my gf always laughs about me :) and i play et a lot. couple of years back i was a well known bzflag-player ... maybe i ll try again someday :)

about this website

darkshed.net is mostly a place i use for all the stuff i am doing so i dont lose it somewhere. it started once as wirrehomepage.de but since my “audience” is more familiar in english i try to do my best to communicate by using english as the main-language for this site.
